Our Story

Founded in 1988, Integrated Healthcare Auditing and Services (IHAS) began as a small, woman and minority owned business with a bold vision: to bring clarity, accountability, and compassion into a rapidly changing healthcare system.

What started with a focus on hospital bill auditing, case management, and utilization review has grown into a trusted partner for federal, state, and local agencies, health systems, and private sector organizations nationwide. For more than 35 years, IHAS has supported clients like the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), and the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene with innovative, cost-effective solutions.

Do you provide direct medical care?+

No. IHAS Cares is not a medical provider. Instead, we work alongside your doctors and healthcare team to ensure you understand your options, coordinate services, and have the support you need.

What geographic areas do you serve?+

We serve families across the entire United States through virtual support, including phone and video consultations. In-person services may be available if needed, depending on the situation. We do not currently serve clients internationally.

How quickly can you help in an emergency situation?+

If you're facing a crisis — like a hospital discharge or sudden change in care needs — we can step in right away. Our case managers know how to get urgent help and advocate for you when time matters most.

What makes IHAS Cares different from other healthcare services?+

We are independent, family-focused, and client-first. That means we don't work for insurance companies or hospitals — we work for you. Our goal is to reduce stress, save time, and ensure your loved one receives the right care at the right time.

Can you help with Medicare and Medicaid questions?+

Yes. Our case managers can help you understand coverage, answer billing questions, and connect you with resources. While we don't provide legal or financial advice, we'll guide you toward the right next steps.

Do you work with families who need long-term care?+

Absolutely. Whether you're planning ahead or already supporting a loved one in a long-term care setting, we'll help you navigate options, monitor quality, and provide ongoing support.

How do I get started with IHAS Cares?+

The first step is scheduling a Needs Assessment. This session gives you a clear picture of what's needed and a plan you can act on right away — with or without continued support from our team.

Who will be my main point of contact?+

You'll be paired with a dedicated case manager or social worker who will get to know your family. This person will be your go-to resource throughout the process.

Do you work with my doctors and providers?+

Yes. We coordinate directly with your healthcare team, making sure everyone is on the same page and your care plan is followed through.

Can you help if my loved one lives in another state?+

Yes. We often work with families who live far from the person they're caring for. We can provide local referrals, coordinate services, and even conduct check-ins when you can't be there in person.

Do you only work with older adults?+

No. While many of our clients are seniors, we also support families navigating care for children, young adults, or middle-aged loved ones with complex health needs.

What if I already have insurance case managers or social workers?+

We complement, not replace, existing support. Our role is to advocate solely for you and your family — filling gaps, providing personalized attention, and ensuring nothing gets missed.
